Violations listed below will result in immediate removal from the server without warning.
Foundational rules that govern all interactions in Onyx County.
All decisions made by server staff regarding rule violations are final.
The use of macros, cheat software, external commands, or any tools that provide an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.
Players must be 18 years of age or older to play.
Onyx County is a serious RP server. All actions must be realistic, immersive, and taken in good faith.
Roleplay must remain separate from real life at all times. In-character situations, conflicts, and emotions may not affect real-world behavior or interactions.
All disputes, rivalries, and storylines must stay strictly in character and within the county. Remember: everyone is portraying a character — roleplay ends when the scene ends.
Players may not force roleplay scenarios that remove another player’s agency or cause discomfort.
A working microphone with push-to-talk is required, and English must be spoken at all times.
Rules governing conduct within the Onyx County Discord server.
Staff are here to help, but please use the ticket system instead of sending private messages or tagging them. This way your issue won’t get lost, and the right people can offer support promptly.
Treat others the way you’d want to be treated. It’s fine to disagree, but keep conversations polite and constructive. No name calling, personal attacks, or starting arguments.
Everyone deserves to feel safe here. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or hate speech in any form is not allowed. This includes offensive jokes, slurs, or targeting someone based on personal traits.
Don’t share ads, scam links, phishing attempts, or NSFW content.
Each channel has its purpose. Posting in the right place keeps things organized and easy to use for everyone.
Your Discord nickname must match your character’s name. This helps staff and other players identify you easily.
Rules for creating and maintaining your character.
Take your time to create a character with a well developed backstory, personality, and appearance
Once you have created your character, it cannot be changed.
Character names must be realistic and appropriate for the time period. Names referencing celebrities, brands, memes, jokes, or internet culture are not allowed.
Clothing colors must remain realistic and appropriate for the time period. Neon, glowing, overly bright, or modern-looking colorways are not permitted. Please use clothing and hair colors that fit the 1900 setting and maintain immersion.
All characters must be 18 years of age or older. Playing as a child is not permitted.
Players with multiple characters must keep them completely separate at all times. Each character must be treated as their own individual with their own experiences, knowledge, finances, and connections.
This means you may not share or transfer information, money, items, property, business access, contacts, or advantages between characters in any way.
Characters may not have shared relationships or storylines unless specifically approved by staff. Your characters should not “know” each other, assist each other, or benefit from each other’s reputation, debts, enemies, or past events.
Important: If one of your characters learns something in roleplay, your other characters do not automatically know it. Each character must earn their own knowledge and progress through roleplay.
Rules governing how players may identify one another during roleplay.
Player identification must always be handled realistically and through proper in-character roleplay. Assumptions or shortcuts are not permitted.
Players may not identify others based solely on their voice, accent, tone, or manner of speaking.
Identification must be based on visible characteristics such as clothing, facial features, body type, or other clear physical traits.
Masks may conceal identity when worn correctly. Masked players may not be identified unless clear identifying features are visible.
Rules governing roleplay behavior, immersion, and scene integrity.
The use of third-party voice communication (such as Discord calls) during active gameplay is strictly prohibited.
Always remain in character during roleplay. If you encounter an issue, play it out naturally and submit a ticket afterward.
Do not go AFK during active scenes or while waiting for Law/Medical response. Being inactive in these moments is considered Fail RP.
Players may not switch characters during active roleplay scenes or ongoing situations.
After being downed, players may not re-engage in combat or hostile roleplay for a minimum of 20 minutes.
No major roleplay or criminal activity may be initiated within 30 minutes before a server restart.
You cannot break out of hogties unless assisted by another player, granted permission, or left unattended for at least two minutes.
Players may not deny roleplay or intentionally avoid interactions without valid in-character reasoning.
Rules that ensure fair, immersive, and respectful roleplay for all players.
No combat logging. Players must wait at least 15 minutes after any crime or hostile interaction before disconnecting. This allows other players to react and gives Law the opportunity to investigate and roleplay the situation properly.
Using out-of-character information to influence in-character actions is strictly prohibited. Your character may only act on information they have obtained in the county through roleplay.
You may not prioritise your own progress or outcomes in a way that limits other players’ ability to roleplay. This includes using in game mechanics or actions to guarantee a win or desired result for yourself.
Random Deathmatch (RDM) and Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) are strictly prohibited.
Clarifications:
Any behavior that breaks immersion or ignores realistic roleplay expectations is considered Fail RP.
Statuses such as “AFK” or “in head” may not be used to avoid or delay active roleplay.
Revived characters retain memory of events leading up to their incapacitation unless otherwise specified by staff.
The following roleplay scenarios are strictly prohibited under all circumstances.
Sexual assault, rape, or any form of non-consensual sexual roleplay.
Any roleplay involving slavery, forced ownership, or human trafficking.
Vampires, werewolves, magic, immortality, or other supernatural elements.
Roleplay involving pregnancy or childbirth is not permitted.

Torture or extreme violence without explicit, clear, and prior consent from all involved parties.
Guidelines for submitting rule violation reports to staff.
Reports must be submitted within the required timeframe and must include valid evidence. Late or unsupported reports will not be reviewed.
Rule violation reports must be submitted within 48 hours of the incident occurring.
Reports must include valid evidence such as video clips, screenshots, or logs clearly showing the violation.
Reports submitted after the 48-hour window or without sufficient evidence will not be reviewed.
Rules ensuring fair gameplay, system integrity, and equal conditions for all players.
All bugs, exploits, or glitches must be reported to staff immediately. Deliberately withholding or abusing known issues is prohibited.
The use or abuse of exploits to gain any advantage is strictly prohibited.
Transferring money, items, property, or assets between characters is not permitted.
Mod menus, cheats, auto-clickers, soft aim, custom crosshairs, or any third-party tools that provide an advantage are prohibited.
Graphics packs, visual filters, or modified settings used to gain a competitive advantage are not allowed.
Desync abuse, speed boosting, strafing exploits, or physics manipulation to gain an advantage is not permitted.
Voice changers are allowed only if they are realistic, natural-sounding, and appropriate for roleplay. Staff may require changes or removal at any time.
Rules governing crime, robberies, hostages, and fair criminal roleplay.
Every scene is now 6v6, which makes it much easier to remember than before when there were different limits for each type of crime. It’s simple to follow, so we don’t expect anyone to struggle with it.
You still have the flexibility to hold larger scenes and void the number limits at players’ discretion, as long as staff are kept in the loop to prevent anyone getting into trouble. To do this, just have someone from each party open a ticket and notify staff that the limits are being voided for that specific scene.
Important: This rule is not a license for OOC discussion about numbers. Comments like “you have more numbers than allowed” or “pick your six” are considered OOC and will be treated as such. If a rule break occurs, you are expected to play it and report it afterward, just like any other rule break.
You may either rob or kill in a single encounter — not both.
Horse and wagon robbery limits apply separately from player robbery limits.
You cannot rob a player and their horse/wagon to bypass robbery limits.
You cannot force players to give items from bank accounts, homes, businesses, safe deposit boxes, or Law/Medical inventories.
Menus may not be used to avoid robbery or hostage situations.
Rules governing how combat and hostile interactions must be initiated and conducted.
All combat encounters must be clearly initiated through verbal roleplay. Silent or unclear engagement is not permitted under any circumstances.
You may initiate conflict or combat while already aiming a gun at someone, but it’s essential to clearly communicate your intentions.
Both verbal commands and a clear intent to act must be present. You cannot simply draw a weapon silently and attack without giving the other player a chance to respond.
All shooters outside, on rooftops, or in hidden positions must be announced to other players.
Locked or instanced buildings may not be used to avoid combat, hostage situations, or active roleplay.
Rules governing interactions with Law Enforcement and Medical to ensure fair and immersive roleplay.
Participation in Law & Medical roleplay is mandatory. You should act realistically and follow the context of the scene to ensure the roleplay is engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
You may communicate with the medical team and other players while downed to enhance roleplay. However, you must act out your injuries realistically and avoid trash talking or breaking immersion.
Whitelisted roles (Law, Medical, DOJ) may not engage in corruption or criminal activity.
You may not steal from any Law, Medical, or DOJ ledgers, stashes, or official resources.
Alerting Law or Medical personnel for anything other than their intended duties is prohibited.
Medical staff must not be prevented from performing their duties. However, they may refuse service if they determine it is unsafe, if the patient is disrespectful, or if roleplay is being denied.
Bodies cannot be dumped in water, deep caves, or any location from which they cannot be retrieved by Medical or Law.
Doctors are not permitted to enter active combat or crime scenes. They must wait until the area is secure before providing medical assistance. However, doctors may be involved in negotiations if medical treatment is specifically requested as part of a demand. In such cases, doctors must not be harmed or taken hostage. Additionally, any individual who receives medical treatment under these circumstances must still observe the 20 minute re-engagement to combat cooldown.
You may not rob Medical staff while they are performing medical duties, or within 5 minutes after. Medical staff should not wear their uniforms while off duty.
Rules governing the placement and use of posse camps and hideouts.
Posse camps and hideouts must be placed responsibly and in a way that does not disrupt roleplay, towns, or other players.
Posse camps may not be placed near towns, main roads, landmarks, properties you do not own, or other high-traffic areas.
Hideouts must be placed near doors and may not be hidden in unrealistic or inaccessible locations.
Hideouts may not be placed on another player’s property without explicit permission from the owner.
Hideouts can be discovered and interacted with through door prompts when found during roleplay.
Rules governing consensual duels between characters.
Play-fighting duels must take place out of public view and away from active roleplay areas.
The losing participant must respawn following the duel.
Players are never obligated to accept a duel of any kind.
Real duels result in the permanent death of the losing character. Outcomes are final and will not be reversed.
Players are never required to accept a real duel under any circumstances.
Real duels may occur publicly, provided they are clearly roleplayed and comply with all other server rules.
